For her solo piece Likes, Núria Guiu Sagarra came up with a gaudy pop style that questions the status of the body and its representation – in an increasingly virtual and globalized world that threatens to standardize tastes and thoughts. She succeeded in presenting a refreshing perspective on the presence of the body in the digital age. For FUTURALGIA, her first work with the Bremen-based company Unusual Symptoms, the Catalan dancer, performer and choreographer transfers her dealing with the digital sphere to an ensemble of eight dancers. In FUTURALGIA, she explores the body as a kind of archive that generates, stores and processes new contents, but differs substantially from the digital in regard to its approach. With choreographic means, she questions the relationship of body and digitality to time and space and their roles in forming personal and collective identity.

NÚRIA GUIU SAGARRA studied classical dance at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. As a dancer, she worked with, among others, Batsheva, La Veronal, Cullberg Ballet, IT Dansa, Carte Blanche, and Ingrid Fiksdal. Since 2012 she has been choreographing her own pieces. Her solo work Likes was selected for the European dance platform Aerowaves in 2018, it has been touring since then internationally and won the Critic's Award 2018 in Barcelona. As an artistic and choreographic assistant, she and the choreographer Arco Renz taught, developed and presented various projects in Asia from 2012 to 2016. From 2017 to 2018, she was the choreographic assistant of the French company Gisele Vienne.

Núria Guiu Sagarra lives and works in Barcelona, where in addition to her artistic projects she is studying for her degree in anthropology.
